Batam, February 14, 2025 – PT Infra Daya Energia (IDE) and PT Taman Resor Internet (TAMARIN) have officially signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to meet the electricity needs of the Nongsa Special Economic Zone (SEZ Nongsa) in Batam. This infrastructure initiative aims to ensure a reliable and sustainable power supply for the data center area within the region.

Power Plant and Transmission Network Development
As part of this collaboration, IDE will construct and operate a power plant with an initial capacity of 140 MW, including the development of transmission networks to deliver electricity to TAMARIN’s 20 kV substation. The project is scheduled to commence operations within 24 months from the agreement’s effective date.

Michael Kristian Wiluan, President Director of PT Taman Resor Internet, expressed appreciation for IDE’s efforts in ensuring a stable electricity supply for SEZ Nongsa. According to Michael, this infrastructure will enhance the reliability of the power system in the area and support digital economic growth.

PT Infra Daya Energia’s Director, Priandika Permana, stated that this project represents a strategic step in supporting the growth of the data center industry in SEZ Nongsa with an efficient power supply. “We are committed to providing a reliable energy supply while supporting the development of a digital ecosystem in this area,” he said.

With the completion of this agreement, both parties are optimistic about accelerating SEZ Nongsa’s development into a leading technology and data center hub in Indonesia. This initiative aligns with the vision of fostering sustainable energy investments.
