
Maxpower Inaugurates COD of 100 MW PLTMG Sagulung and Sekupang Project in Batam
Batam, Riau Islands, 6 March 2026 – PT Maxpower Indonesia (“Maxpower”) officially inaugurated the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of its 100 MW power project, consisting of the 60 MW Sagulung Gas Engine Power Plant (“PLTMG”) and the 40 MW Sekupang PLTMG. The inauguration ceremony took place at the PLTMG Sagulung Site in Batam and was attended by the company’s management and relevant stakeholders.
Prior to the ceremony, a brief safety induction was conducted for all invited guests as part of the company’s commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture across Maxpower’s operational sites. The inauguration was marked by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the commencement of the power plant’s commercial operation date.
In addition to the inauguration ceremony, the event included the symbolic distribution of donations to orphaned children as part of the company’s social responsibility initiatives for communities surrounding its operational areas. This initiative reflects Maxpower’s commitment not only to providing reliable energy but also to creating a positive social impact in the communities where it operates.
On the occasion, Bapak Fazil Erwin Alfitri, President Director of PT Maxpower Indonesia, stated that the operation of this power project represents an important milestone in strengthening electricity supply reliability in Batam and its surrounding areas. The project also demonstrates the company’s commitment to supporting economic growth and industrial sector in Batam. This project, along with several other Maxpower projects, also represents part of Maxpower’s business transformation toward becoming a leading energy solutions provider in Indonesia.
The event continued with a site visit to the operational areas of the Sagulung PLTMG. In a limited session held in the MV Room, Deputy COO Bapak Wahyu provided an overview of the 100 MW project construction, including its technical and operational aspects as well as its contribution to the electricity system in Batam.
