Maxpower Indonesia Hosts Internal Knowledge Sharing Session on “Steam Power Plants”

[Jakarta, December 3, 2024] – In an effort to enhance employee expertise and knowledge in the field of electricity generation, Maxpower Indonesia recently conducted an internal Knowledge Sharing session titled “Steam Power Plants” (PLTU). This hybrid event was designed exclusively for Maxpower employees and held both at the company’s Head Office in Ampera and via the Microsoft Teams platform.

The session featured Pak Nasser Iskandar, a Maxpower consultant, as the keynote speaker. He presented a comprehensive range of topics related to PLTU’s and preparatory materials for the SBU Certification (Business Entity Standards). Key points discussed included:

  1. Electricity Safety Regulations
An in-depth discussion of regulations aimed at ensuring safety, reliability, and environmental sustainability in PLTU operations, with a focus on:
    • Safety for operators, humans, and surrounding living creatures.
    • Reliability in terms of performance and operational continuity.
    • Environmental sustainability by ensuring PLTUs operate without disrupting local ecosystems.
  2. Operational Feasibility Certification (SLO)
A detailed explanation of the testing processes required to obtain an SLO, a critical prerequisite for power plants before commencing commercial operations.
  3. Electrical Engineering Competency
    • An overview of the five fields of electrical engineering and the corresponding qualification levels.
    • The competency certification process, which includes written tests, practical assessments, and interviews for levels 1 to 4.
    • Standards for Electrical Engineering Competency (SKTTK), particularly for PLTU operation at levels 3 and 5.
  4. PLTU Operations and Maintenance
Participants gained insights into PLTU operational processes, main components, supporting equipment, fuel types, and maintenance steps for coal-fired PLTUs. Discussions also included case studies and sample questions related to PLTU maintenance for level 3 certification.

The event provided numerous benefits for Maxpower employees, including enhanced technical skills in PLTU operation and maintenance, deeper understanding of industry regulations and standards, and improved readiness for competency certification processes. Furthermore, the interactive discussions promoted collaboration among employees, enriching their knowledge and experiences while fostering the development of a professional workforce capable of addressing challenges in the energy sector.
