Maxpower Indonesia Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for 100 MW Gas Engine Power Plant Project in Batam

[Batam, January 17, 2025] – PT Maxpower Indonesia (“Maxpower”) proudly hosted the groundbreaking ceremony for the 100 MW Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) project, which will be developed across two locations in Batam: Sagulung (60 MW) and Sekupang (40 MW). The event, held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Sekupang site, marked the commencement of a critical phase in the project, which is expected to significantly contribute to the energy supply in Batam and its surrounding areas. The ceremony was attended by the Board of Directors of PT PLN Batam, PT Tasnim Gerak Persada as the EPC contractor, and Maxpower’s strategic partners in Batam.

Remarks by Mr. Noor Wahyu Hidayat, Director of Project Management, PT Maxpower Indonesia

In his speech, Mr. Noor Wahyu Hidayat, Director of Project Management at PT Maxpower Indonesia, elaborated on the long-term benefits of the PLTMG 100 MW Batam project. He also emphasized Maxpower Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the renewable energy sector and sustainability, while ensuring that the project prioritizes environmental and occupational safety (zero accidents).

“The PLTMG 100 MW Batam project is a tangible step for PT Maxpower Indonesia in supporting the provision of clean and sustainable energy for the Batam region. We are committed not only to creating a reliable electricity supply but also contributing to local economic development and job creation. In his speech, Mr. Dinda Alamsyah, Director of Operations at PT PLN Batam, expressed high appreciation for the commencement of the PLTMG 100 MW Batam project. He emphasized the importance of this project in strengthening Batam’s energy resilience and supporting industrial development in the region.

Remarks by Mr. Olfa Yonson, President Director of PT Tasnim Gerak Persada

Mr. Olfa Yonson, President Director of PT Tasnim Gerak Persada, expressed his pride in being part of this strategic project. He expressed hope for a harmonious collaboration among all involved parties to achieve the common goal of creating a more efficient and reliable electricity supply system.

Tumpeng Cutting Ceremony and Groundbreaking

As a symbol of gratitude for the project’s commencement, the ceremony proceeded with the traditional cutting of the tumpeng, carried out by the Boards of Directors of Maxpower, PT PLN Batam, and PT Tasnim Gerak Persada, which was then shared with all guests present.

 The highlight of the event was the groundbreaking ceremony, where Mr. Priandika Permana, Managing Director of PT Maxpower Indonesia, along with the Directors of PT PLN Batam and PT Tasnim Gerak Persada, placed the first stone, accompanied by a siren sound marking the official start of the physical construction of the PLTMG 100 MW Batam project. This moment symbolized the beginning of a long journey in the development of the power plant, which is expected to support regional economic growth.

The event concluded with the distribution of donations to orphaned children and expressions of gratitude to all guests for their attendance. There is hope that the project will progress smoothly and provide significant benefits to the Batam community.
