PEB and Maxpower Synergy: Delivering Reliable Power Supply through 8 MW PLTMG in Sorong

Batam, January 31, 2025 – PT Pelayanan Energi Batam (PEB) and PT Maxpower Indonesia (Maxpower) have officially signed an Agreement for the Lease of an 8 MW Gas Engine Power Plant (PLTMG) to strengthen the electricity system in Sorong, Southwest Papua. This agreement aims to ensure a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the local community and industries in the region.
Infrastructure Development and Operations
As part of this collaboration, Maxpower will build, operate, and maintain the 8 MW PLTMG located on Jl. Petrocina Inamo, Warmon Aimas, Sorong Regency for the period of 5 years.
Rosa Darman, Director of PT Pelayanan Energi Batam, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in supporting the growth of electricity infrastructure in Southwest Papua. “We are optimistic that, with the experience and expertise of PT Maxpower Indonesia, this project will provide optimal benefits to the community and contribute to the region’s economic growth,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Priandika Permana, Director of PT Maxpower Indonesia, stated, “We are dedicated to providing reliable and efficient energy solutions to meet our customers’ electricity needs optimally. This project underscores our commitment to enhancing national energy security”.

During its operational phase, PT Maxpower Indonesia will ensure that the PLTMG is managed and maintained in full compliance with industry standards. Additionally, safety and environmental compliance will be prioritized, supported by the implementation of a rigorous safety management system.
By signing this agreement, PEB and Maxpower reinforce their collaboration in advancing national energy resilience, particularly in Eastern Indonesia. Both companies are confident that this initiative will contribute to the development of more efficient, reliable, and sustainable power solutions.
